Traffic Advisory - Signalization Project
VDOT is continuing signalization upgrades within the Town of Abingdon. As part of the next phase of work, improvements will be completed during evening and overnight hours to minimize impacts on daytime traffic.
The contractor will begin mobilizing at approximately 6:00 p.m., with work expected to begin around 8:00 p.m. Depending on the number of signals being replaced at each intersection, work is expected to take approximately 2 to 4 hours at each location.
Traffic control will be established at each work site. The Virginia State Police will be onsite to monitor traffic and provide assistance as needed. Please use caution in the area(s) and follow any flaggers or posted signage.

Sanitary Sewer Project
MC3 Solutions is beginning the next phase of the Town’s sanitary sewer project. As part of this phase, MC3 Solutions representatives will be knocking on doors and distributing informational flyers (below) to residents and property owners within the project area.
The map below shows the general target area where sanitary sewer work will take place. Please note that work will not occur on every road or at every parcel shown on the map. The map is intended to provide an overview of the general area included in this phase of the project.
More information will be shared as work progresses. Work is expected to continue through December 2027, with final project completion anticipated at that time.
We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as this important infrastructure project moves forward.
