🔵⚫️National Police Week

This week, we honor the service, courage, and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the country - especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We invite you to show your support in simple ways: a wave, a blue ribbon, a blue light at your home or business, or a simple thank you. Your support reminds our officers that their dedication to service is seen, valued, and appreciated.

🚓🐾 Abingdon Police Department recently welcomed students from Greendale Elementary School for a fun and educational visit! Students had the opportunity to explore a police vehicle, learn about fingerprints, and enjoy an exciting police K9 demonstration.

A special thank you to Deputy Tilson and K9 Kala with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for joining us and helping make the day memorable for the students!

The Road to Hope is a national memorial bicycle ride where law enforcement officers, survivors, and supporters travel hundreds of miles to Washington, D.C. for National Police Week, honoring officers who made the ultimate sacrifice and remembering the survivors left behind.

We are proud to support this meaningful mission and extend our gratitude to every rider participating in this year’s journey. Safe travels as you continue your ride to our nation’s capital.

A call that definitely made our day! 🐥🦆

Ducklings were reported stuck in a drain pipe at Cook Street and Cummings Street. The Abingdon Police Department and Abingdon Fire Department quickly teamed up to get them safely out.

All ducklings are now safe, sound, and back where they belong!

Arrive Alive - One Text or Call Could Wreck It All

The Abingdon Police Department is proud to partner with Abingdon High School, Abingdon, Virginia Fire Department, and the Virginia State Police to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving.

We've staged a crash scene at AHS and displayed signs that send a powerful message: "One Text or Call Could Wreck It All."

We all share the road - and we all share the responsibility. Whether you're new behind the wheel or have decades of experiences, safe driving starts with staying focused!

Thank you to Abingdon Collision & Towing Inc. for supporting the cause and donating the cars for this display!
